I’m back from the great Utah Adventure 2009!  I was almost completely technology-less last week…and honestly it was kind of nice.  That welcomed separation has made getting back to bloggyworld a bit rough.  But I’ve pushed through catching up on the gazillion posts in Google Reader and am back in action.

No major injuries this trip – just a lot of scrapes and sore muscles; we were all very thankful to have made it through the week safely!  We spent the first part of the week canyoneering (rapelling into slot canyons, stumbling down rivers, and hiking out insane ascents) in Zion National Park in southwest Utah, then the second half hiking, fly fishing, and chillaxing in the Uintas National Forest in northeast Utah (near Wyoming).  It was such a glorious trip in a truly beautiful state!

Some pics of my friend’s parents’ place (where we stayed before and after the trip):

Canyoneering in Zion (in wetsuits – no matter it was 100 degrees out…the water we were rappelling in was 50 degrees!):

All in all, it was just such a wonderful week to reconnect with some of my college girlfriends and their significant others.  It turned out to be a pretty productive week too! – one got engaged at the beginning of the trip, and another found out she was pregnant at the end of the trip!  I can’t wait to get back to Utah – love that state.
